May Day Drive 2018

Spring finally arrived with hot sunny weather for the May Day drive which was held at Chadwell Grange by kind permission of Richard Maddocks.   Seven turnouts took part in a drive through beautiful Shropshire countryside following a route of either 11 or 18 miles, or intermediate distances for those who improvised with the instructions!

Those taking part were the elegant turnout of Russell and Pat Hand with a coloured pair, Tony and Carol Gregory with their tandem of Hackneys Rocky and Oscar, Andrew Virgo and Gillian Wild with a pair of cobs, Jennifer Marren and Helen James with Corky, Felicity Stubbs and Avril Pluck with Amber, Sue and Ian Cole with Sam the Man, and last but not least Ali Mason and Smurf who were enjoying their first BDS drive – hopefully the first of many!

How do you know when you are driving through a classy area?   When what you thought was a pheasant crossing the road in front of you turns out to be a peacock!

Many thanks to everyone who made the drive possible by hosting, organising,  water carrying and stewarding – your efforts were very much appreciated by all of us.
